Unjammed

Not to long ago, I was leaving my house for a meeting scheduled at 9:30am, and it was just a couple of miles from where I live. As I was leaving, I felt led by the spirit to go a different route then I usually take. I turned left and made my way towards I-285. As I approached the highway, I slowed down when I saw an extremely long line of traffic in front of me going towards the entrance ramp. I had 10 minutes to get there and it was only one exit away.

Anyone familiar with Atlanta knows how bad traffic can be. At first I was frustrated, and began to doubt that the spirit had led me this way. Then I decided I was going to pray, and have faith that God would get me to my destination on time regardless of what was in front of me.

So I began to pray, and a minute and a half later traffic started opening up and I was making better time. I was amazed.  Three minutes later, as I was exiting the highway I saw the reason for all the traffic. Someone had an unfortunate accident that was clearing at that moment. I made it to my destination praising God and on top of that I had a few minutes to spare. This story may seem inconsequential or unimportant to skeptics. Nevertheless, God is in control of everything that goes on around us and it is in these personal moments when God reveals himself to each of us. “If we are willing to look we find his guidance in the most mundane of situations.”  (Matthew 7:7-8)

NKJV Matthew 7:7-8  7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
